Listening to it somehow connects me to a deep truth, old as the universe itself. I could listen to Van Morrison’s “Astral Weeks” forever and never grow tired of it.
That is the lyrical beginning to the greatest album ever made. “If I ventured in the slipstream, / Between the viaducts of your dream / Where immobile steel rims crack / And the ditch in the back roads stop / Could you find me? / Would you kiss-a my eyes? / Lay me down, / In silence easy, to be born again.” (Astral Weeks)
